Building Physics Knowledge Transfer Associate: Energy Performance of Buildings

This post is a 24 month Knowledge Transfer Partnership between University College London and Max Fordham LLP. The practice’s business is building services engineering, environmental and sustainability consultancy. The post is based at the Max Fordham LLP office in Camden, London.

You will investigate sources of discrepancy between predicted and actual energy performance in real non-domestic buildings. You will undertake a major review of the Practice’s projects, from calculations through to post-occupancy performance. You will work to develop a set of proposals to improve the Practice’s procedures relating to energy prediction and reviewing along the whole timeline of the design project and afterwards.

Requirements:
You will have a minimum of a 2.1 honours degree in a numerical discipline – ideally physical science or engineering. Relevant post-graduate qualifications are an asset. An interest in building design and energy issues is essential. Previous experience of building energy modelling would be a distinct advantage.
